From left to right, these measurements appear in the following order:

  1. Lens width
  2. Bridge width
  3. Temple length

Lens Width

This is the horizontal width of each lens at its widest point. It typically ranges from 40mm to 60mm.

Bridge width

This is the distance between your two lenses. In short, the bridge width is the space where your frames fit against your nose. The size of this piece ranges from 14mm to 24mm.

Temple length

This is the length of the temple from each screw to its temple tip, including the bend that sits on your ear. The temple is typically 120mm to 150mm long.

Lens height

This is the vertical height of your eyeglass lenses at the widest point of the lens within the frame. The lens height is important when measuring bifocals or progressive lenses.

From left to right, the numbers tell you the:

  1. Lens width 
  2. Bridge width
  3. Temple length

Sometimes a fourth number will be noted on the arm, and this is your lens height.  Keep in mind that all these measurements are in millimeters.

Bridge Width  [47O19-140]

This is the distance between your two lenses. In short, the bridge width is the space where your frames fit against your nose.  The bridge size ranges from 14 mm to 24 mm.

Temple (Arm) Length [47O19-140]

This is the length of the temple from the hinge to the temple tip, including the bended part that sits on your ear.  The arm length is typically 120 mm to 150 mm long.

Lens Height

This is the vertical height of your lenses.  The measurement for it is taken at the widest point of the lens within the frame.  Lens height is especially important when measuring bifocal or progressive lenses.

REPLACE GLASSES LENSES IN PLASTIC FRAMES

  1. Gather Your Tools: You may need a screwdriver, a soft cloth, and a replacement pair of glass lenses with the correct prescription.
  2. Remove the Old Lenses: Use the screwdriver to remove any screws holding the old lenses in place. Be gentle to avoid damaging the frame. If the old frame has no screws, you can just press the lenses out of the frame.
  3. Clean the Frame: Use a soft cloth to clean the frame and remove any debris or adhesive left from the old lenses.
  4. Install the New Lenses: Carefully insert the new glass lenses into the frame. Ensure they fit snugly and securely.
  5. Secure the Lenses: Reattach any screws you removed earlier, making sure the new lenses are firmly in place.

Do not apply heat or cool frames to replace lenses
